Scripps Theatre Arts classes engage and build skills for children of all experience levels, whether they are brand new to theatre or have been performing with us for years.
Note: Participation in classes is not required for those who plan to audition for future STA productions.
Once paid, all class registration orders are non-refundable. There is no discount for missed classes or late registration. Thank you for your understanding.
Masks / face coverings are currently optional for STA class sessions.
All classes take place in person at 9845 Erma Road, Suite 207 in Scripps Ranch
ACTING CLASSES
Fairy Tale Theatre (Mondays 4:45pm)
Young performers will experience the joy of movement and emotion exploration in both structured and unstructured ways through fun fairy tale stories.
Grades K-3
You Should Be On Stage! (Tuesdays 4:30pm)
This class provides the opportunity to develop acting technique in depth through improv, scene study, character analysis, and theater games.
Grades 3-6
Hello Broadway (Tuesdays 5:45pm)
Stepping up creativity and putting together all of the elements of musical theatre – singing, dancing, and acting, this class includes activities such as improvisation, scene work, monologues, singing, and choreography.
Grades 6-9
DANCE CLASSES
Choreography 3-6 (Mondays 5:45pm)
Students will learn styles of dance common to musical theatre while developing technique and styles to tell a story through movement.
Grades 3-6
Choreography 6-12 (Mondays 6:45pm)
This is an intermediate/advanced level of Musical Theatre Dance. Students will learn choreography and movement that will challenge and build necessary skills to be successful in auditions and performances.
Grades 6-12
Tap for Grades 3-6 (Tuesdays 5:45pm)
Starting with basic steps, learn to use the metal taps on shoes to make sounds and create rhythm. Basic tap dance vocabulary and footwork will be introduced, becoming more complex throughout the session.
Grades 3-6
Tap for Grades 6-10 (Tuesdays 7:00pm)
Tappers will learn to use the metal taps on shoes to make sounds and create rhythm.
