All classes are in person

Scripps Theatre Arts classes engage and build skills for children of all experience levels, whether they are brand new to theatre or have been performing with us for years. 

Note: Participation in classes is not required for those who plan to audition for future STA productions.

Once paid, all class registration orders are non-refundable. There is no discount for missed classes or late registration. Thank you for your understanding.

Masks / face coverings are currently optional for STA class sessions.

All classes take place in person at 9845 Erma Road, Suite 207 in Scripps Ranch

ACTING CLASSES

Fairy Tale Theatre (Mondays 4:30pm)

Young performers will experience the joy of movement and emotion exploration in both structured and unstructured ways through fun fairy tale stories.

Grades K-3

Hello Broadway (Tuesdays 4:30pm)

Stepping up creativity and putting together all of the elements of musical theatre – singing, dancing, and acting, this class includes activities such as improvisation, scene work, monologues, singing, and choreography. 

Grades 6-9

You Should Be On Stage! (Thursdays 4:30pm)

This class provides the opportunity to develop acting technique in depth through improv, scene study,  character analysis, and theater games. 

Grades 3-6

DANCE CLASSES

Choreography for grades 3-6 (Mondays 5:30pm)

Students will learn styles of dance common to musical theatre while developing technique and styles to tell a story through movement. 

Grades 3-6

Choreography for grades 6-12 (Mondays 6:45pm)

This is an intermediate/advanced level of Musical Theatre Dance. Students will learn choreography and movement that will challenge and build necessary skills to be successful in auditions and performances.

Ballet for grades K-3 (Wednesdays 4:30pm)

Ballet for grades 4-6 (Wednesdays 5:30pm)

Ballet for grades 7-10 (Wednesdays 6:30pm)

Fundamentals of Ballet includes stretches and center work designed to help in the development of posture, muscle strength and coordination. This class will use ballet vocabulary to develop the foundation for ballet technique. 

TECH THEATRE CLASSES (grades 6-12)

Costumes (Saturdays 11:00am)

Bring Mary Poppins characters to life through costumes. This class is a great choice for students with an interest in backstage work.

Grades K-3

Props (Saturdays 11:00am)

Students will help design, create, pull, assign, distribute, maintain, collect and store the properties for STA's Mary Poppins production.

Classes are limited-size group with professional teaching artists. Engagement and active participation is expected from every student.
